The Marseille Screening Center (MaSC) was established to unite the screening capacities of the three platforms HiTS, PCVMT, and PCML. These platforms, historically grouped under AD2P for more than 15 years, have a long-standing experience in leveraging the synergy of their complementary expertise in small-molecule hit discovery and characterization, with a particular focus on antiviral and anticancer research.

Recognized at the local level (Aix-Marseille Site Label), at the national level (founding member of the ChemBioFrance infrastructure), and at the international level through numerous European projects, the transformation of AD2P into MaSC, IBISA-labeled since 2022, reflects a shift toward offering an expanded range of services for both anticancer and antiviral drug discovery.

The increasing demand for antiviral screening highlights a major public health paradigm shift. Thanks to the technological complementarity of its three constituent platforms—targeting both protein-based and cell-based screens—MaSC stands as a unique screening hub in the Aix-Marseille metropolitan area.

Because viruses play a causal role in certain cancers, and relevant biological targets exist in both therapeutic areas, MaSC prioritizes the identification of chemical and biological probes to drive the development of new therapeutic strategies.

PCML (Plateforme de Criblage Marseille-Luminy) specializes in the production and purification of enzymatic targets, enzymatic assay development (96/384-well), PPI and protein–ligand inhibitor screening, and rigorous biophysical characterization (IC₅₀, specificity, TSA).
Please contact the platform's Operations Manager for inquiries.

HiTS (High-throughput Screening platform at CRCM) offers comprehensive in-silico screening (high-throughput docking, molecular dynamics), medicinal chemistry support (hit-to-lead optimization, QSAR), ultra-high-density screening, and biophysical characterization of protein-ligand interactions (TSA, ITC).
Please contact the platform's Operations Manager for inquiries.

PCVMT (Plateforme de Criblage Viral Marseille-Timone) focuses on cell-based assays with replicative or recombinant viruses, resistance profiling to assess barrier thresholds, and identification of viral targets through phenotypic antiviral screens.
